Decisiveness – Makes quick decisions after the snap. Not always the correct one, but you won’t find him caught trying to figure out what to do.
Mobility – Over 1k career rushing yards, including multiple 100-yard games.
Short & Intermediate Accuracy – Able to zip accurate throws to hit receivers in stride on slants and crossing routes over the middle.
Competitiveness – Shows competitive drive and emotion on the field. Won’t back down in tough situations.
The Bad
Deep Ball – Needs some work on timing and accuracy. Sometimes the ball gets out a little late, many times overthrown.
Size – Relatively small for the position, though that has become less of a factor in the NFL in recent years.
Protection – Allows himself to take big hits when scrambling. Needs to learn to slide because this will lead to injuries in the NFL.
Ball Security – Has tendency to fumble when hit in the pocket or scrambling. Fumbled 6 times in 2021 and 14 times during his collegiate career.
Overall Assessment
PRE-DRAFT: Corral is one of the most competitive quarterbacks from this year’s draft class. He wears his heart on his sleeve and showcases great leadership skills on the field. He had a high completion percentage in college, but played in a very RPO-heavy offense which likely contributed to that. Corral’s arm talent is good enough to succeed in the NFL, but he will need to improve his timing and accuracy. He’s not Michael Vick on the field, but is elusive/mobile enough that NFL defenses will have to factor it into their game plans. Even if he is not an immediate starter when drafted, I think his competitive drive will get him there eventually.
